Pastor Jim

Pastor Jim Beranek and his wife, Jane, moved to Charles City in June 2011 when Pastor Jim assumed responsibilities as the pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim began his pastoral career in 1988 and has served in the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church throughout his career. He attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY and graduated with a Master's of Divinity degree in 1988.

Pastor Jim and Jane are blessed with four daughters, two of whom are married, and wonderfully blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren. Grandchildren, biking, running, and woodworking occupy Pastor Jim's time when not "pastoring".

Pastor Jim felt the beginnings of his call into the pastorate as a young boy and loves serving the Lord as a pastor. Preaching and teaching are his favorite duties as a pastor and he claims Mark 10:45 as his life verse:

"For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many."
